Fitzward + Zombie Apocalypse AU
The world is more No Man’s Land, now. The population is estimated to be somewhere around 70-30 - in humanity’s favour, but the ratio gets tighter every week. The world’s militaries have banded together under their leaders to fight back against the infection, and sustain the humans who still live and breathe. A branch of the North American Forces, in concert with a branch of the European Military Coalition, have aimed to take the movement to sustain humanity a step further. It’s not just sustainability, anymore. It’s regaining ground; it’s finding a cure.
Doctors Jemma Simmons and Leopold Fitz, renowned before the Infection, are brought in by the military, and split - Jemma to the UK, Leo to the US - where they work in close quarters with military companies assigned to protect them, and their work. The project hopes to find success on one continent or the other, working off the hope that the strains, with an ocean between them, aren’t too different.
Staff Sergeant Grant Ward is assigned, with his men and women, to protect and transport Dr. Leo Fitz. It’s a job that would be difficult enough, if the brilliant scientist didn’t insist on constantly putting himself in danger’s path, or combating boredom by finding ways to get under Grant’s skin.
With humanity’s fate resting on Leo’s shoulders, and Leo’s safety placed squarely in Grant’s hands, the two move from military base to military base, surrounded by allies, hoping for a breakthrough.

So ever since Agents of SHIELD canon went to hell partway through season 1, @slamncram and I have coped with the destruction of our ship by living in many, many AUs instead.

Otherworld AU (also known as Bitten AU)
Military historian Grant Ward meets recently unemployed Leo Fitz while on a battlefield tour with his Pack brother, Lance Hunter. To the shock of the Pack, the two of them hit is off right away, and fall into a whirlwind romance that culminates in a ring just a little over a year later. One glaring issue: Leo doesn’t know about Grant’s furry little problem; somehow he’s never found anything off about Grant’s proclivity for ‘going out running’ in the dead of night. Terrified of the prospect of losing the human he loves because the Pack cannot risk exposure, Grant gives Leo the engagement gift he couldn’t have seen coming: the bite of a werewolf.
Stuck in a sci-fi horror novel he never signed up for, Leo turns away from Grant and to his new Pack brothers to learn how to cope with his body’s painful new needs, and how to survive being a b-movie monster. All Grant wanted was to avoid the reality of Leo being scared off by this Alpha; Can they overcome his act of betrayal, or are they fated to be distant for the rest of their unnaturally long, supernatural lives?
Fitzward + Superhero AUIn a city plagued (though, some would say blessed) with a vigilante superhero who fights crime in the streets, there’s a little courthouse where legal assistants Grant Ward and Leo Fitz have worked together for just over a year. Fitz thinks he knows his friend pretty well, but when he’s saved by the hooded vigilante,Guardian, he finds out maybe he missed a few things. Mainly, how his attractive co-worker fights crime by night. Ward chooses to trust Fitz with his biggest secret, and the two grow closer, eventually falling into something like a relationship, together. It’s not exactly easy, but it’s plenty exciting. And the crime-fighting’s pretty thrilling, too.
Let’s Try Being Normal AU
In which Fitz and Ward retire from SHIELD to get a nice place in the Pacific Northwest, settle into regular, boring old jobs (as a FBI C-IED Expert and NASA engineer, respectively), and raise a couple of dogs. Oh, and get hitched and raise a couple kids. That too.
Fitzward AU – Zombie Apocalypse
The world is coming to an end, a virus spreading like wild fire through every country. Agent Ward manages to hitch a ride to a United Nations ship escaping New York just as it falls for one of the last safe places on Earth. There he meets Dr Leo Fitz, a virologist working to combat the virus raising the dead. Given the job of keeping Fitz safe as he attempts to cure the undead it soon turns into something more than just a bodyguard and his mark…
Chapter 1 - highschool au prompt for Sky.
Grant Ward had three rules for surviving high school, constructed from his experience of having to move somewhere new at least once or twice a year. He liked to think they were his way of living an easy life, although, his life was anythingbut easy.
- Do what you’re told.
- Keep your head down.
- Only break rules one and two if someone messes with your little brother.
FitzWard AU
Leo Fitz is a Fiddler in a small pub in the Hebrides. He has a quiet life, a small flat and a cat. He likes his wee slice of paradise and has never thought to change it until an American tourist by the name of Grant Ward walks into his pub and he skips a string…
“Do you really go commando?” Ward asked jokingly and Fitz answered with his most serious look.
“Course I do it’s traditional.”
